Sometimes you come across a song that is so beautiful that you just cant stop listening to it. Came across this one while randomly browsing on Youtube. Loved everything about it, the lyrics, music, the video the cast, the choregraphy. Every thing has been blended so well that you cant help falling in love with it. What makes it so much more interesting is that this is a crowd funded effort. Kudos to the team for creating such a beautiful piece of art and wishing they make many more such videos!

Elephant Stables
One of the least destroyed buildings in hampi, is the elephant stable. This is located right next to the royal enclosure where the queens palaces were located. This building consists of 11 domed structure each one of them housing a royal elephant. The elephants were primarily used during festivals or important royal proceedings.

Laxmi Narsimha
This is the largest monolithic status in Hampi. You will see the form of Narsimha sitting on coiled 7 headed snake, Sesha, the 7 headed snake forming a hood over him. Quite often the statue is refered to as Ugra Narsimha, but the original statue had Laxmi the gods consort sitting on his lap. The statue was badly damaged sometime during the downfall of Vijayanagara empire and the status of Laxmi has been missing ever since. The only clue of its existence is, we can still a broken arm resting on Narsimhas left arm(visible on the right side in the pic). ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgj5wO53gXBZlB0bT66YAM_vCBg-StP2Rq1e6I6S-ICu9mqpQXUUrjy1RuMqi2rxGgVS5KaehNo6pKU92-jEBf2zkpLX2MQL8kuMLhl8tyLuNAFreVtP8kpp_2u-s_cK3-0qGx6iJbKLA/s640/IMG_20160126_200316.jpg)

If you think it looks majestic now, please do keep in mind that the statue was damaged severly. What you see now is what has been assembled back in the recent past, you will see some shoddy cement work here and there if you look closer. Just imagine how beautiful this may have been before it was destroyed.
Just to give a sense of how huge the statue actually is, here is a pic to give you some point of reference.

Sasivekalu Ganesha
Magnificent view of the Sasivekalu ganesha Temple located on Hemakutta hills in Hampi. Called as the Sasivekalu(Mustard Seed) Ganesha due to resemblance with the Sasivekalu, this was built by local merchant some time in early 1500. The monolith statue is close to 2.4 meters in length and has an open pavilion unlike the other temple close by.
The below pic was taken during a different time

Gateway to Hampi
A ruin of a majestic gateway to vijayavittala temple complex. This measure atleast 15 feet high. Vijayavitala temple during Vijayanagara time had a market complex that attracted horse traders from all around the world. There are several carvings and sculpture here that depicts these scenes of horse traders. In the photo here if you look closely at the base is one such instance. View the image full size to see the base more clearly.
